We’re currently recruiting for a Switchgear Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing low to medium-voltage electrical switchgear and related components. This role ensures products meet quality standards and customer specifications through detailed workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
THIS POSITION IS A 3-6 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION WITH POTENTIAL TO GO DIRECT WITH COMPANY IF PERFORMANCE IS GOOD AND THERE IS AN OPENING.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble switchgear panels, enclosures, and subcomponents using mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Mount, wire, and install breakers, relays, switches, bus bars, control panels, and other electrical devices.
- Perform copper bus fabrication and installation.
- Use hand and power tools, measuring equipment, and torque tools correctly and safely.
- Inspect components and assemblies for proper fit, alignment, and function.
- Perform quality checks and ensure compliance with UL, ISO, or customer standards.
- Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
- Work with engineering and production teams to resolve assembly or quality issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
- 2-5 years of electrical or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Familiar with standard safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with switchgear or panelboard assembly
- Basic knowledge of UL standards and testing procedures
- Proficiency in the use of hand/power tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters
Hourly Rate: $19/hr.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00am – 3:30pm, Fridays – Optional for OT 5:00am – 1:00pm
